Meet the dogs of Shuttleworth Farm
Jay:
Jay is our Great Pyrenees & Polish Tatra cross. She came from a Amish farm in New York. She is named for the beautiful Jay Peak that overlooks the farm, as Jay looks over our sheep! If you are a coyote, beware, but if you are a friendly human, she would love a belly rub!
Silas:
Silas is a Great Pyranees with a big ole' head! This guy slobers more than all the dogs on Shuttleworth Farm combined, but it doesn't stop him from doing his job! This young dog has made a perfect team with Jay and together they are a dangerous pair - coyotes beware!
Mac:
Mac is our oldest dog on the farm at 8 years of age. He may seem gruff at first, but this dog has a unique talent of becoming the adoptive parent for poor orphaned lambs. His specialty is befriending lonely lambs, and keeping them warm on chilly nights.
Marli:
Marli is our original Border Collie. We got her as a tiny puppy at an Amish Farm in New York, and two years later she's our senior border collie on duty. Marli can move a flock of 300 sheep through open fields, across bridges and down the road up to a mile! She has no relation to Bob Marley. Thanks for asking.
Lorelei:
Lorelei was adopted from a good friend of the family, Mrs. Barbara Bellefleur. Since arriving on the farm last summer, Lorelei has shown more guts and heart than any other dog we own! She works the sheep with unmatched intensity and focus. Now the smallest dog on the farm, she is the one we call when we have an agressive animal to deal with - and Lorelei loves the challenge!
Luna:
Luna is our newest addition, and probably the last puppy we will have on the farm for a few years. This pup, nicknamed Tuna Fish (Luna-Tuna) came from the much respected breeder Roger Deschambeault in Conway, NH. She has just begun her training, but we expect big things from her.
Chance:
Chance is our offical farm greeter! Named for the second chance he has at life, (he was a Collie & Lab breeder 'mistake'), Chance takes it upon himself to welcome each guest to the farm with a tail wag and a hand shake.
